Specialist (RIS)

The RIS program equips advisors and financial planners with the knowledge they need to discuss environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues with Canadian retail clients, as well as practical insights on how to incorporate RI into their business. The Responsible Investment Specialist (RIS) credential is suitable for mutual fund-licensed investment advisors and investment specialists.

Become an RI Specialist

To earn the RIS credential you must complete the RI Fundamentals for Retail Advisors course with a score of 80% or higher.

You must also:

Agree with the Statement of Purpose of the RIA.

Complete 6 hours of continuing education (CE) activities on a biennial basis to ensure your knowledge is current.

Pay annual administrative fee of $75.00 (Individual RIA Members are exempt from administrative fee)
