Volunteer at the 2016 RIA Conference, June 6th-7th in Toronto

The Responsible Investment Association (RIA) is hiring volunteers for the 2016 RIA Conference, which takes place at the Hyatt Regency Toronto from June 6th to 7th, 2016.  The conference is the premier event for responsible investment (RI) professionals in Canada, bringing together over 300 delegates to engage with the hottest topics in Canada’s growing RI industry. 


By volunteering at the conference, you will gain experience in professional event management and gain access to industry leaders. As a volunteer, you will be given the opportunity to network with the biggest industry players in Canada.  Volunteers will gain access to the conference and receive letters of recommendation outlining their contributions. The RIA ensures that all volunteers are able to observe/participate in some of the sessions.

About the RIA

The RIA is Canada’s membership association for RI. Members include mutual fund companies, financial institutions, asset management firms, advisors, consultants, investment research firms, asset owners, individual investors and others interested in RI. Our members believe that the integration of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into the selection and management of investments can provide superior risk adjusted returns and positive societal impact. 

Social Media Gurus (2 positions available, June 6th-7th, 2016, Toronto)

Social Media Gurus will be responsible for managing the conference Twitter feed and engaging with the conference attendees through multiple social media channels on behalf of the RIA.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Avid Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin user
• Experience sparking discussion on Twitter
• Experience monitoring multiple hashtags
• Knowledge and interest in responsible investment and corporate social responsibility 

Event Management (8 positions available. June 6th-7th, 2016, Toronto)

Event Management volunteers will be responsible for assisting with the set-up, registration, general operations and plenary note-taking, ensuring the conference runs smoothly and attendees have an enjoyable experience.

• Conference organization
• Strong writing skills
• Event management
• Note-taking
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast paced setting
• Knowledge and interest in responsible investment and corporate social responsibility
