Aaron Bennett, CFA, joined Jarislowsky Fraser in 2014 and has more than 16 years of investment experience. As Managing Director, Sustainable Investment Strategy and Research, Aaron supports the continuous improvement of systemic and robust integration of material ESG factors into the investment analysis across all portfolios and asset classes. He advises the Investment Strategy Committee in broader policy formulation and implementation. Aaron is also a member of the firm’s Sustainable Investment Committee and helps support the coordination of sustainable investing activities and the development of ESG tools across the firm.
Aaron has previously worked for the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan in the Natural Resources sector, and has served on the boards of private investee companies in the energy space. He was a founding and active member of the organization’s Responsible Investing Committee. Aaron also previously worked for a number of mid-sized Canadian boutique investment banks as an equity research analyst covering Health Care and Biotechnology.
He was a member of the Advisory Committee of the PRI-coordinated collaborative global engagement on methane risk and the Responsible Investment Association’s Toronto Steering Committee. He also sits on the Advisory Board of the Embedding Project and the Environmental and Social Committee of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance.
Aaron holds a B.Sc Honours (Biology) from Queen’s University, an MBA from the Ivey School of Business Western University and is a CFA Charterholder.
