Description

Investors want to understand how companies are respecting Indigenous rights and reconciliation in their business, enabling better evaluation of investment opportunities and risks. This is particularly important as we move towards a just transition. While work is being carried out to make such corporate disclosures a legal requirement, investors need not wait to engage with their portfolio companies on this topic.

This webinar will provide investors with the necessary context and questions to use in their engagements with issuers regarding Indigenous due diligence. The Canadian mining industry will be used as a case study for other Canadian industries as it is at a pivotal moment with global demand for minerals on the rise. The industry is also at the forefront of the need for Indigenous rights disclosures, with a range of areas for improvement and stakeholders working to develop better disclosure standards. Our panel of speakers bring a range of experience and aim to equip attendees with the next steps in their engagement work.

Thank you to the Reconciliation and Responsible Investment Initiative (RRII) for collaborating with us on this session.
