Alexander Toth
Alex brought his passion for efficiency and problem-solving to the financial industry in 2017. As an Investment Advisor, he finds it fulfilling to help clients navigate milestones, evolving needs, and market fluctuations so they can make informed decisions throughout their lives.
His background includes progressive roles in banking, credit, and investing at a leading Canadian financial institution. Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities, Alex worked for a local niche asset management firm that worked closely with advisors from all investment firms. This gave him an understanding of how all the firms operate and where clients are best served.
With ongoing industry coursework, Alex complements his experience, unique perspective, and dedication to clients. He earned the Responsible Investment Advisor Certificate, the Certificate in ESG Investing, and Certifications in Advanced Investment and Financial Advice. He has also obtained the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI). The FCSI designation is reserved for financial professionals that meet the highest standards for advanced education, ethical conduct, industry experience and endorsement from peers. Alex also maintains membership with the Responsible Investment Association of Canada.
Personally and professionally, Alex understands the complexities of cross-border needs and managing the wealth of self-employed professionals through living in California, Hong Kong, and Canada – and having a physician as a life partner.
Active in the community, Alex participates in numerous fundraising events, such as the Rotary Ride for Hearing to raise awareness and the Cypress Challenge to support pancreatic cancer research. He has also volunteered as a dog walker for the SPCA.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with his partner, Emma, and their young rescue dog, June. Together, they take part in outdoor pursuits, especially cycling and surfing.
